Saint Johns Place
This Victorian 19th century brownstone was a challenge we were excited to take on. The original moldings, door casings, and stained glass were something we wanted to restore and preserve while refreshing the interiors. We chose every new element to harmonize with the existing details, including custom-designed cabinets, bookcases, and vanities throughout; Victorian-era handmade geometric tiles; and coffered ceilings to mirror those on the parlor floor. The classic turned-leg vanity in the master suite paired with the honed marble mosaic floor adds dimension and interest to the bathroom. These details, along with the solid brass fixtures, create a luxe finish in a historic setting.
Laight Street
Our Tribeca project included the renovation of a 6,000 SF penthouse in one of Downtown Manhattan's historic buildings. The overall build included a reconfiguration of the layout in the southeast wing of the apartment as well as the primary suite in the north wing and the addition of a new kitchen, powder room, and butler's pantry. The entry vestibule included door casings that were carved out of Arabescato Corchia marble. We continued this custom marble work into the dining area and the primary bathroom, including the custom fabrication of two vanities, complete with integrated sinks and marble construction. The kitchen, dining room, and pantry showcased entirely custom millwork with veneer that was heavily wire-brushed to bring depth and life. Walls were textured with lime wash and Roman clay, and large plank wood floors were hand-laid throughout the common areas. Thick, large-format limestone was installed on the floors of the north wing of the apartment, leading to gridded terrace doors that open up to panoramic views of Downtown Manhattan.

This Victorian 19th century brownstone was a challenge we were excited to take on. The original moldings, door casings and stain glass were something we wanted to restore and preserve while updating the interiors to harmonize with the existing details. All of the cabinets, bookcases and vanities throughout were custom designed by Clayton and Lee. The Victorian era handmade geometric tiles compliment the architecture. The ceilings are coffered to mirror the ceilings on the parlor floor. The classical turned leg vanity in the master suite paired with the honed marble mosaic floor add dimension and interest to the bathroom. These details along with the solid brass fixtures create a lux finish to the space.
